A Master’s Moment
When it comes to Notables sharing stories, when you get one personally from Furman Bisher, the award winning writer, who wrote dozens of books and covered sports for basically every national magazine in the country, you probably have a good one.
Bisher held seniority over the hundreds of golf reporters and other sports journalists who descended each April for the Masters Tournament. The Golf Channel called Bisher "Dean" of Master’s journalists.

Bisher: “There was a wealthy guy, somewhat of a jerk, who spent most of his life trying to get connected to someone who could open the door that would allow him to play a round at Augusta National.
Finally, he makes the connection and gets his wish, and as he’s walking down the first fairway, he stops and takes in all the beauty and he says, “I wonder what the poor folks are doing today?’
A voice came from behind him---his Augusta National caddy: ‘Well, Sir, one of them would be totin’ your bag today!’
